YOUTH CLUB NOTICE
After three months of running the Friday night youth club, we have decided that in order for us to maintain this as an ongoing facility for children, we have to make a few changes.
Recently we have received some complaints about come of the older children bullying the younger ones. This is causing problems as it is very difficult to bridge the age gap between 8 year olds and 13 year olds.
We are finding that 80% of the staffs' time is mostly dealing with the older children, and some of their behaviour, yet 80% of the children are between 8 and 11 years old. Therefore we have decided to provide the facility for this younger age group on a Friday evening, and from next week (25th May 2007), the youth club will run from 6:30pm to 9:00pm!
We only have a few regular volunteers and are finding the increasing numbers very difficult to cope with. We do not wish to put the health and safety of your children at risk. Any parents wishing to offer their services on a Friday will be appreciated immensely.
We have spoken to the local police about trying to provide a disco for the older age group on a Friday and they are giving this some thought.
